It is with dismay and utter melancholy that we hear the news of the mass drowning of our gallant youths, who still venture into the perilous journey in search of greener pastures.
Honestly, it is high time this maritime tragedy is curbed! These mass fatality events at sea are a result of overcrowded and unsafe boats used by migrants. It is unfortunate that for decades, we continue to lose our able men to the Mediterranean Sea.
We need to change our mindset, and our governments must implement policies that will extinguish this unforgettable, lifelong tragedy.
I am certain that migration is a natural phenomenon; however, the most dangerous forms must be countered and eradicated.
